UNTHSC is currently offering a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program on its Fort Worth campus. In the past decade, each of Canada’s physical therapy schools has transitioned from 3-year Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (BScPT) programs that required 2 years of pre-requisites university courses (5-year bachelor’s degree) to 2-year Master’s of Physical Therapy (MPT) programs that require pre-requisite bachelor’s degrees.
In the province of Quebec, physical rehabilitation therapists are health care professionals who are required to complete a three-year college diploma program in physical rehabilitation therapy and be member of the Ordre professionnel de la physiothérapie du Québec (OPPQ) in order to practise legally in the country.

In the province of Quebec, prospective physiotherapists are required to have completed a college diploma in either health sciences, which lasts on average two years, or physical rehabilitation technology, which lasts at least three years, to apply to a physiotherapy program or program in university.
UNTHSC currently includes – Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, School of Health Professions, UNT System College of Pharmacy and the School of Public Health – in addition to the School of Health Professions.
The organization has been involved in a variety of community and university activities, including West Texas Rehab Center Spring Chicken Affair, KLST Fall Festival, campus bake sales, trick-or-treating for canned food, Special Olympics (FunFitness), Sonrisas Therapeutic Riding, and health fairs/screenings in the community and at ASU.
And we offer didactic and practical learning opportunities in vibrant, state-of-the-art facilities right on campus – including our Physical Therapy and Athletic Training Lab and the Boston University Physical Therapy Center After completing the DPT program and passing the licensure examination (the first-time passing rate for BU graduates has averaged 99.5 percent for the past 5 years), you’ll be not only clinically competent but also truly confident as you enter clinical practice.
A PTA can provide physical therapy services only under the direction and supervision of a PT. A physical therapy aide or technician is a person not licensed by this Board who has on-the-job training and aids in the provision of physical therapy services only with onsite supervision of a PT or PTA.
